Interactive Panel vs Projector: Which Display Is Right for Your Room?

This is one of the most common questions we get from schools planning a smart classroom rollout, and the honest answer is: it depends on the room, not on which technology is "better" in the abstract.

Choose an interactive panel when...

• The room is used for daily interactive teaching with touch, annotation and quizzes
• You want zero bulb-replacement costs over the panel's lifetime
• The room gets strong daylight and needs a consistently bright, sharp image
• Multiple teachers use the same room and need quick, plug-and-teach setup

Choose a projector and screen when...

• You need a very large image (200"+) that a panel size can't practically match
• The room is an auditorium or hall used occasionally, not daily
• Budget per room is tighter and a smaller panel size wouldn't suit the space

Many of our school clients actually use both — interactive panels in regular classrooms, and a projector and screen in the main auditorium or assembly hall. We size each room individually rather than applying one standard everywhere.
